What is Reviews by Supersven, and how does it work?
Reviews by Supersven is the website with honest game reviews from the gamer’s perspective, without any influences! This makes all reviews very detailed and objective.
Every week a new detailed review will be posted.
How does the rating system for games work?
All game will be rated from 0-10.
Games are rated on the following aspects. There are many other questions we ask per segment, but here are a few questions we ask ourselves.
Story and Setting: This is an important part of every game. In each review going forward we will rate these sections, plot overview, character development, emotional impact.
Gameplay and Mechanics: This is the meat of a game, we will be ranking the game based on these sections, core gameplay mechanics, difficulty and balance, pacing of the game, innovation and uniqueness, controls and user interface, microtransactions.
Graphics and art style: Without pretty pictures, your game might blow up. Or perhaps you have a game that is supposed to look bad? Nonetheless, I will review these sections, quality of graphics and art direction, technical performances, environment and design uniqueness.
Sound and Music: In this section I will rate the game on how it sounds, the ambiance and more. The sections are divided into, music score and how it contributed to the game, sound effects quality, voice acting.
Multiplayer components: If there is a multiplayer component it will be rated on these areas, multiplayer availability, community.
Replayability: This is a very crucial part of every game. If you cannot replay a game, it might detract from the score, or perhaps a game is better left of finished? In this section, I will rate the game in these areas, game length and content volume, extra content, replay value.
Last but not least, I will leave suggestions on how to improve the game, and if possible, compare it to another game. After that, I will give my personal rating.
This concludes the review with the last words, where you can find a summary of the review in the pros and cons.
The final rating is constructed from all aspects and divided by the number of aspects.
Example: story and setting, 78. Gameplay and mechanics 8.3. Graphics and Art Style 6.4. Sound and Music 5.0. Replayability 8.0. And there is no multiplayer component.
These ratings will results in a 7.1, this is how we calculate the final rating.
(7,8+8,3+6,4+5,0+8,0= 33,5 → 33,5/5= 7,1)
The personal rating does not contribute to the final rating, and if the multiplayer is ranked, it will change the sum a bit, but the core remains the same.
Do you play all the games that you review?
Yes, we do. My wife and I play most of the games together, though there are games that are played by either me or my wife.
We find that it is mandatory to complete the main story in the game to create an honest review.
Who writes the reviews?
Sven writes all the reviews while Simone handles the social media, including Discord. But all ideas are discussed together.
Do you have any employees?
No, we do everything for the website together. Though it has happened that a technical part was too difficult to solve that we had to hire a specialist.
Where is Reviews by Supersven based?
We are based in The Netherlands, in Central Europe.

Why is my comment not immediately visible?
Even though we have protection, there are still many bots that comment with links that lead to viruses or pornographic content. Because of this, we choose to manually approve all comments. We do this once every day.
