Introduction
Today we are going to finally review Halo Infinite! After a long time, many Halo reviews later, we have finally arrived at the game that so many people want to hear about. Once again, you will take the role of the Master Chief, despite this barely being the case in the previous Halo main entry. This game tries out new things as almost the whole previous game never gets mentioned, the covenant also makes no entry this time. You will be facing the banished!
What did I think before playing Breath of the Halo?
Halo Infinite does not only suddenly pit you against the Banished, but also a new unknown enemy. Like, don’t we already have enough bad guys? Don’t we still have unfinished business with the guardians? Or Maybe even the Flood? Or what about the Covenant? We also have the Prometheans right? Wait, who is the new force next to the Banished? I have no clue! This is getting very confusing though! For more information, we went to the Steam page for the most accurate information!
The Steam page
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1240440/Halo_Infinite/
The Steam Page is very lackluster for a big game, there are not even good GIFs in the text! It is like they just copied some text and called it a day! I have literally no clue what to expect for the gameplay, well there is a grapple hook. I guess knowing a little is better than nothing? Furthermore, I guess the developers went, this is Halo they will buy it, especially now that it has a skill tree!
Rating
I rate Halo Infinite with a 6.7 before playing.
After the Last Halo game, I do not have much hope for Halo Infinite. However, the Master Chief is playable again, and you have a grapple hook! I also overheard something of an open world? If so, that is very bad for Halo, it is just following the trend of everyone wanting to make an open world game nowadays.
Story
The story of Halo Infinite is extremely garbled, this time the developers actually copied the system of Breath of the Wild, I am not kidding, sorry.
For explanation for the people that did not play Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, in the beginning Link almost dies but is saved later, in this game you will collect memories to unfold what happens.
As soon as Halo Infinite starts, the disappointment in my, and my wife’s eyes becomes clear very quick. Where we destroyed the Banished in Halo Wars 2, with an outdated army, only three spartans, with a war that eventually ended in a stalemate and is probably still going on, we now move on to Halo Infinite!
The best Spartans, the most advanced technology, light beam weapons from the Prometheans, the best marines and humans in the galaxy, get their asses wiped in a few minutes by the banished, now you might think, the Master Chief will come in and save the day, sorry to say but the Master Chief gets wiped from the floor with ease.
You might ask, what happened to the Guardians from Halo 5? What about Cortana? Well, for the most information you need to find echo logs on the Halo ring where the Master Chief ends up after being defeated.

I rate the story of Halo Infinite with a 2.7
I did not think that the story could be any worse than Halo 5.
Seeing the human race get wiped out with ease by the banished makes no sense at all, what is going on with the Guardians? This story makes my head spin so much!
Gameplay
The gameplay of Halo Infinite is good and bad at the same time, but it is no longer a Halo game. It has evolved into another generic open world game where you go from one question mark to another for experience points. You do have a grapple hook that eases up the travel in the open world. You will need to find the missions in the open world, if you can acquire more experience points you can spawn vehicles and weapons, unlimited!
While the gameplay is fun, it also is very boring and generic. The gun balance is completely gone, why use different guns? Just teleport to a base, spawn your favorite gun and continue! The new guns that have been added are extremely overpowered, or maybe get enough experience points (also called Valor in the main campaign) and spawn scorpions and blow everyone up!
As you explore the map, you will find some marines in need of help, wait what? How come these marines are still alive when all Spartans have been killed? Except for those that were on a mission away from the Infinite off course. You will also need to find Spartan cores, aka skill points, to upgrade new skills. Wait, this is Halo, why do we have skills? Games need to evolve, but the last three Halo games were so different it feels all stuffed up!
There are also collectables that can be missed, if you do miss these, you cannot get 100% unless you start a new game! For the 100% you will need to collect all the echo logs that are littered around on the Halo ring. Using the grapple hook, you can climb mountains, or you can get enough experience points to spawn a wasp to fly, these also land on marines often.
Rating
I rate the gameplay of Halo Infinite with a 5.9.
While the gameplay is good, with the new grappling hook and guns. It just does not feel like Halo anymore, it is like the game has lost its soul on the way to this game. I feel like I am playing Legend of Zelda with guns. Breath of the Halo would be a better name!
Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics of Halo Infinite are actually good! The cutscenes look good. The guns also look good as they fill the banished with holes. However, the challenges that are scattered around the world map all look the same. You will almost see the same thing over and over again. Only the main missions are a bit different compared to the overworld map!
Sound
The sound in Halo Infinite is good, as is the voice acting of the new A.I. However there is one huge problem with the voice acting, that is the dude that keeps saying, you are going to die, we are going to die. This is said so much in the entire game, I can still hear him yelling, we are going to die if you do that!
Rating
I rate the sound and graphics of Halo Infinite with a 7.8
While there is nothing wrong with the graphics or sound department, it feels stale after having playing a couple of hours.
What did I think after playing Breath of the Halo?
While we still had fun when playing Halo Infinite, it did not feel at all like we were playing Halo Infinite. If you had told me this is a spin-off with a random generic Spartan, I would have believed you! There was nothing wrong with the Halo Formula after the first four main games, however they kept trying to fix something that is not broken and have now created the abomination, Breath of the Halo!
While the main missions are still fun, the exploring of the open world feels stale, it feels like most of the environment is copied and pasted, there are no different biomes like deserts, jungles or maybe even an area filled with ice. The grappling hook is fun to mess around with though, but the other skills are barely noticeable as you will most likely not even use them! And the worst problem, there is not even a local co-op mode!
Rating
I rate Halo Infinite with a 5.5 after playing.
I wish there were more enemies to kill, different biomes to explore, more air based vehicles, better balanced weapons, no infinite respawning weapons, these are just some problems in Halo Infinite.
What are my personal thoughts about breath of the Halo?
While my wife and I did have a great time when playing this game, which was mostly due to the use of the grappling hook, it did not at all feel like Halo. My wife said : Halo Spartan Assault/strike feels more like a real Halo game, if you are wondering about those games, we plan on reviewing them both! But, if a spin-off feels even more Halo than the main Halo series, something went wrong!
Rating
My personal Rating of Halo Infinite is based upon if this were not a Halo related game at all, my personal rating is an 8.9!
Master Chief who?
Last Words
Pros
- Time to play with a new toy, the grappling hook!
- There are a ton of new weapons and gadgets to use!
- Explore an open world with a lot of the same enemies and environments
- Face the banished with a new A.I called the weapon
- Gain valor to spawn infinite weapons and vehicles, anyone fancy a scorpion or ten?
- We are all going to die!
Cons
- Halo Infinite does not feel like a halo game at all
- Another new main enemy has suddenly popped up, the Banished and the unknown
- There are permanent missables in Halo Infinite
- Infinite weapons make the game way too easy
- Halo Infinite adds a lot of loose ends to the story line
- There is no local co-op in Halo Infinite
Collecting all those audio logs reminded me a lot of collecting the memories in Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. All we are missing are the Korok seeds, perhaps we can plant some grunts and pretend they are Koroks! I just hope they do not give me a Korok seed. Anyone looking forward to a Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild review?
Thanks for requesting Breath of the Halo Dimitriy

Let me know what you think of Breath of the Halo in the comments!
I hope you enjoyed reading this review, I hope to see you in the next review!
If you liked reading this review, maybe you would like to share this review with your friends!
That’s a great game, some day should get into the saga
>Halo Infinite does not feel like a halo game at all
I don’t think it’s a big disadvantage
Maybe because Halo has not been Halo like since Halo 4?
Nice game
It’s disappointing to hear the people behind this game were more interested in chasing current trends rather than sticking with what made the series unique, I suppose I’d just be better off playing the actual Breath of the Wild game!
Halo has been changing trends and game formulas since Halo 4, the first three games are awesome!
Infinite scope, infinite divisiveness.
“Halo Infinite does not feel like a halo game at all”
yep
I feel like, Link! Where is my master sword?
Kinda crazy that all the stuff that happens between Halo CE and Halo Infinite is just over the course of a few years. Humanity was just gettin shit on by ALL the aliens.
And there are so many aliens! They cannot even finish one conflict before a new one occurs….
Already free without campaign one. Why they wanted to review? I wondered =)
This is the campaign version, who knows, maybe one day I will review the multiplayer section of the game!
great game!
I still like the game for its combat, but I agree, the campaign feels like a generic open-world clone.
hmm, interesting. at least it is still fun to play?
It can still be fun if you are not too attached to it being a Halo game!
