Introduction
We are going to review another game that is in early access, Roboquest! This game is a rogue looter shooter game where you upgrade your base to increase your chance at success! There are multiple jobs that you choose from, but you have to unlock them! There are also multiple paths to take, but certain paths are still a work in progress. I will not write about the story, as I will wait for the full game release before doing that.
What did I think before playing Roboquest?
Roboquest is a game that wants you to hone your skills, but certain jobs might be hard to use! You will also need to have a bit of luck to find the correct weapons and relics! I did not know much about the game yet, but I did know that you need to synergize your weapons and relics to maximise your damage per second, for more information I went to the Steam page!
The Steam Page
https://store.steampowered.com/app/692890/Roboquest/
The Steam page looks great, There is a lot of information, while the game may not yet be finished, and it might seem hollow for now, but the game does seem like a lot of fun! I was ready to shoot, loot and scale the walls to find secrets!
Rating
I rate Roboquest with a 7.4 before playing.
If you like rogue lite games, want to loot and shoot, do not mind early access, this seems like a great game!
Gameplay
Before starting, you get a small tutorial, before you know it, you have your own base camp for which you need to collect golden wrenches. These can be collected by defeating bosses, or finding secrets! You will need to defeat many robots to gain experience points, with level ups, you will gain perks to make your life easier.
If you die, however, you will need to re-level your character again. There are many weapons whom all can benefit from different perks. Your perks that can be granted also depends on how far along your base camp is with being upgraded. This also depends on what job you have chosen, but you do need to unlock them first.
There are many relics for you to collect, and all of them do something different. They will also upgrade your weapon damage, but you will need to have the correct weapon. There are also melee weapons like a chainsaw!
Rating
I rate the gameplay of Roboquest with a 7.9.
The gameplay feels a bit hollow, but still very fun. It is noticeable that more features and paths will be added in the future.
Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics of Roboquest try to take on something of a Borderlands look while also using a comic book style, this is also evident when shooting robots, luckily there are already quite some robots to kill depending on what path you have taken!
Sound
The soundtracks are quite fun, but it does need some upgrades. The boss fights do have good music! The sound effects are fun though!
Rating
I rate the sound and graphics of Roboquest with a 6.2
This game still need some upgrades and maybe add more graphical elements!
What did I think after playing Roboquest?
I had a lot of fun when progressing through this game, as I upgraded my camp, new jobs became available! However, I had the most fun with the original job, the Guardian! This job uses a recharging shield to prevent incoming damage, other jobs will be able to use rockets, or maybe even drones!
If you enjoy rogue like games, and looter shooters, this game might be perfect for you! It might not be finished yet, but it is certainly fun for a couple of runs! I also enjoyed the secrets that were hidden on different paths!
Rating
I rate Roboquest with a 7.6 after playing.
If you look at the Steam page, the info you see, is exactly the game that you get but not finished yet!
What are my personal thoughts about Roboquest?
I enjoyed looking for the secrets the most, scaling walls, jumping around, taking different paths, and in the end these secrets helped me upgrade the camp!
Rating
My personal Rating of Roboquest is an 8
I enjoyed shooting up all the robots, and that there were multiple different robots to kill!

Good review! This seems to be a good fps game.
I always enjoy games where you can play as robots! I suppose it partly comes from my love for R2D2 as a child. The game does look fun even though it still isn’t finished yet, so it might be worth a try. Thanks for the review!
Beep Beep Boop!I think you will enjoy it!
I like the graphics, which allured me a bit, but after reading your review it’s an easy pass for me… thanks!
For being in early access, it looks pretty good.
Good looking game and nice review. Game was added to wishlist 🙂
Good to hear that!
Looks fun!
Looks like fun game, but instead of rogue I’d appreciate a story.
I believe a story is planned!
>Not for the people that dislike roguelite games
To be honest, this is a very strange cons
Most of the time, looter shooter games are not combined with a rogue lite game.
This is a mix-up of genres that often occurs in people disliking the game, it really needs to be your taste!
If you are more of a fan of shooter games, you need to look somewhere else 🙂
Looks pretty fun and well done with good content
I like to find secret stuff.
I’ll be checking this one out, it looks cool early access or not
Even though a lot still needs to be done, I had a great time when playing this game!
I love the cell-shade style graphics, looks like fun too.
This looks interesting! I love the comic book style, the scenery also reminds me of the game Hob with the idea of nature taking over forgotten technology! The soundtrack feels a bit strange though!
