Introduction
Today we are going to look at a Dragonball Z game, which is not made by Bandai Namco, So I wonder how this game will play out. This is an idle game where you collect fighters from the Dragonball franchise, then you need to battle it out in stages that follow the story we all know. So, there will not be a story in this review.
What did I think before playing Ancient Legendary Warrior?
This is going to sound idiotic, the reason I started playing this game was because I saw it come by in an ad and I wondered if it was true. You know, the ad with get 777 free summons! Well, I can tell you, it’s not true, you do get 10 free summons, just a tad less than you were promised. Now, let’s check the Google Play Store
The Google Play Store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=czdt.tyhnc.dbaa&hl=en_US
You can see this game will use popular Dragonball characters to advertise and draw you into this game. There does seem to be plenty of things that you can do in this game, like building the team you want. But we all know, you need to find that one meta team that will carry you through the game.
Rating
I rated Ancient Legendary Warrior with a 7.7 before playing.
This game, despite not having the summons promised, looked like it would be a fun game!
Gameplay
Your first goal will be to make a team with S tiered characters, and if you are lucky, you can even get an SS tiered hero early on. But getting high tier heroes is very hard and mostly reserved for play to win. Despite that, you can still get quite high in the leaderboards without paying and getting VIP experience. You can clearly see people with a high level of VIP at the top.
After getting a team, you can go through the story while unlocking new modes, for example the ability to join the tournament. Or even a small world to explore which will give you star capsules. You are going to need these capsules for upgrading your characters. You will also need fodder characters and duplicates. Furthermore, you can get these by summoning, tickets can be earned in various ways.
There is also PVP, but if you are faced against someone who pays to win, you will lose. You will also need to gather gear to equip your characters. There are also chips to enhance their abilities. If you want to keep leveling your characters with hard to gain experience points from idling, you will need breakthrough scrolls.
Rating
I rated the gameplay of Ancient Legendary Warrior with an 8.0
There are no ads to annoy you, and even if you are free to play, you can still enjoy this game a lot.
Sound and Graphics
Graphics
It amazed me that the graphics were actually pretty good in this game. I liked the sprites, the battles are a bit stiff as they are turn-based, but all in all, the graphics are good, but there is one major problem. The translation is all fracked up. Who the hell is Friedza?
Sound
There are almost no sound effects, and you will keep hearing the same soundtrack over and over, it will sometimes even go completely silent until you enter a new battle. There are also, random metal grunting songs, which, baffled me.
Rating
I rate the sound and graphics of Ancient Legendary Warrior with a 5.5
What did I think after playing Ancient Legendary Warrior?
I played this game for quite some time, I thoroughly enjoyed the different modes that this game offers. Most of the rewards are also good, but the real money prices are insane. If you want to join and end some events, you need to pay over 1000 dollars! Yes, you read that right, and the worst part, some people do this!
It is hard to gather a team to make it viable enough to play all content, let alone when you need to upgrade a second team. Getting star capsules is very hard for someone who does not pay. It is possible, but it is going to slow your progress to someone who might be able to play the same mode five times in a single day.
Rating
I rated Ancient Legendary Warrior with a 7.1 after playing.
Even if this game is fun for free to play, to get in the top 10, you need money.
What are my personal thoughts about Ancient Legendary Warrior?
I liked killing Yamcha.

The old microtransaction curse, sadly super common for mobile games
Well… if you get a game for free it does not mean you can play it for free 😅
I wish I liked Dragonball series as much as other people, but it just doesn’t hit me the same way.
Good review! Nice game.
I love Dragon Ball and the graphics are good, but they’re too expensive to get the most out of it.
I don’t like games of this type.
Interesting
I should start watch DB, never know also about mobile game
Not bad Dragon Ball game
I feel sorry for those who spend 1000s of $ on games like this. Most of them can’t afford it but are hopelessly addicted.
good old dragonball.
dragonball yes, but this game no
That´s a big pass for me, microtransactions and bad translation.
A $1000 to get to endgame? Since when is Dragon Ball a cash grab? At least that manga has its fan base. :O
An unexpected DB game.
It is not made officially by Bandai Namco, and since they don’t do what people want, they look for fake games, which can be fun, just avoid the scummy microtransactions.
