Introduction
Awaken the time has a great concept, combining many genres into one whirlpool of time travel. The game is still in a very early development stage and still needs lots of works. I would guess it is going to take a few more years before the final game release. I have created a video review of this game and the game concept looks really good. The gameplay is still very limited but it shows what this game could become in the future.
The game starts in the past where you are lost in a maze with a flying orb. When you go into the future you will meet the orb again and find the maze again.
What did I think of Awaken the Time before playing?
I found the game on steam and it looked really good, I really like games that involve time travel and multiple genres.
I contacted the developer if he would be interested to have his game reviewed. I quickly got a key and started playing the game.
I did not know the game was this early in development but the game has a good concept. I think it would have been better to wait before releasing it on steam.
There is not very much content yet but if the game is completed I can see it becoming a good game, there are too many people that discredit this game because it is not finished yet.
I think the amount of content that is in the game is very limited and still needs lots of work.
Story
The story is still under development and there are currently only two acts out of five.
I think the story will be subject to many changes as the process of developing progress will continue in Awaken the time.
I am wondering how the story will develop over time.
Gameplay
The gameplay in each act is different than the previous one. In the first act, you are a swordsman that is lost in the maze and you will need to find your way out.
There is no HUD yet on act one but it is being developed to show your health and other status effects. You will need to gather the keys in the maze to continue your journey.
You will encounter enemies that love to ragdoll around in funny ways. You will also learn some spells that you can use to defeat your enemies. It is not yet possible to see how long the cooldown is for your spells but I think this will be added once the HUD is implemented into the game.
In act two you will use guns to get rid of many zombies that are in your way. You will not be able to find ammo for your weapons but your guns are very strong. You should save your ammo and use it wisely. In this act you have a HUD and a marker to show you where you will need to go. It is better to run past some zombies than to try and kill them all. Your goal is to find the flashlight and explore the cave that leads back to the maze but what will be waiting for you in the maze? You will need to wait for the developer to finish the game and see what happens in the next act.
I wonder what genres will be added later into the game with the new acts.
Sound and graphics
The graphics will need a lot of polishing before the final release of Awaken the time, there are some collision errors. You can stand on walls but I think that with some beta testers and more development the collision errors will be fixed.
The sound will also need some work but I think it can work great, the voice acting is not very good in my opinion and will need some work. I had a really hard time to understand the voice actor, I had to read the subtitles to understand what was going on.
The orb, in the beginning, sounds a bit weird, I am not sure if this is part of the game or not. There are some errors in the text here and there that will need to be fixed by sending beta testers to find them.
What did I think of Awaken the time after playing?
It did not live up to my expectations as I had expected when I first found the game on steam. This was not because the game was bad. In my opinion, the game has been released to early and it still needs a lot of work.
I think the concept for Awaken the time is great and it could become a great game. If you want to help make the game better you should buy it and let the developer know about any bugs you find.
If you are looking for a full game to play this game might not be what you are looking for. This game has great potential but I think it will need years of work.
I would love to see what the game looks like when it is completed.
My personal rating for this game is 3 but when the game is finished and polished I see it getting a much better rating.

– I like that each act has a different genre.

– The developer is working really hard on improving this game.
Cons
– As the game is now it is only for beta testers to upgrade the game.
– Collision errors in the walls.
– The A.I of enemies needs to be updated, they patrol the area but they don’t see you.
– In my opinion, The game has been released to early access for the public.
The game is in need of many beta testers and hard work from the developers to morph the game into what it could be. I think it still needs years of work but then it could become something good with a nice story and good gameplay. If you are looking to beta test you can always send the developer a message.

I see this game getting a much higher rating when it is completed but in the state, the early access is that I played the game I think this rating is fair.
