Introduction

Today we are going balls, as in that is the name of the game we will be reviewing today. This is a very casual game that I found on the app store, it mostly involves a rolling ball, and clearing some levels. Due to how casual this game is, there will not be a story involved in this review.

What did I think before playing Going Balls?

I used to play flash games back in the day, when you had those big pages with all kinds of games. This reminded me of that era, I wondered, how fun it would be to take this game with you, just, boot it up and roll a bit. That is mostly what there is to this game. But nonetheless, we are going to check the Google Play Page.

The Google Play Store

From the Google Play Store Page, we don’t get much wiser, we see that there are many levels to complete, which is always fun. It also seems we have multiple worlds to access. I wondered how this works. All in all, it seemed like a fun game to just play now and then.

Rating

I rated Going Balls with a 6.3 before playing.
While it seemed like a fun game, this seems like a game that is something you quickly get over.

Gameplay

The game starts very simple, as this game has very basic gameplay designs. You swipe to roll the ball, it starts out very easy, but as you get further into the game, you will see that the challenges become harder and harder. Can you roll all the way to the final level? Probably not because you will be too bored by that point.

As you play the game, you will find coins, these can be used to buy new ball skins, and worlds. This also means that every time you finish a level, you will get prompted to watch an ad to increase the coins you will gain. This gets annoying rapidly, then there is the fact that sometimes in the levels can only be picked up if you watch an ad.

The worst part about the gameplay is the ads, there are so many ads it gets annoying. It is also costly for such a game to remove the ads, but expect a new ad each thirty seconds or so. Depending on whether you want bonuses or not, these ads will become longer. This made the game almost impossible to play.

Rating

I rated the gameplay of Going Balls with a 5.0
Mostly because of the insane amount of ads.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics were very basic, at least the different worlds can give some variation. But you will first have to unlock these with enough coins. You can also play races and challenges if you encounter them. The backgrounds seemed a bit stale.

Sound

I started to get annoyed with the rolling sound very fast. The music was almost non existent.

Rating

I rated the sound and graphics with a 5.5
This game is very basic in this department.

What did I think after playing Going Balls?

While I did have some fun in this game, there were some fun skins to buy. Like a puffer fish. The worlds seemed unnecessary to me. This is just a game where you keep on rolling forever. What I found the most annoying was the constant ads that flooded my screen.

Rating

I rated Going Balls with a 5.2 after playing.
While fun, it’s not fun for a very long time.

What are my personal thoughts about Going Balls?

The ads, along with the price to remove them, ruined this game for me.

Rating

My personal Rating of Going Balls is a 4.0

There’s a line between too many adverts and giving people a chance to like a game. They’ve crossed that line and gone to the greedy side!

    > There are many skins to buy for your balls

Lmao, that caught me by surprise! 😀

The devs really struggled to get the value out of it, so they decided to overload the game with ads. Not cool. :/

Inappropriate ads for young children, including real news breaks. My almost 9 year old son was on tears after inadvertently watching an ad.
