Introduction

A review that has been teased for quite some time has made its way on the website! Jurassic World Evolution with mods! What do the mods add or change, and is it fun to play around with? Off course these mods are made by random people who are very skilled!  Add new dinosaurs to your park and expand your islands to add a mossasaurus to your park! I will not go over the story in the modded review, since this was already done in the normal review of Jurassic World Evolution! If you have not yet read the normal review, please visit this link: https://www.reviewsbysupersven.com/2021/07/10/jurassic-world-evolution-review/

What did I think before playing Jurassic World Evolution with mods?

I always love trying out mods since the community in modding has amazing skills! They even found a way to add new dinosaurs instead of replacing them, add over 60 new dinosaurs to the collection and start digging up their fossils! You might ask yourself where do you find these mods, and how do you apply them to your game? Luckily there are great instruction videos and for more information we are going to the page where you can get mods for Jurassic World Evolution!

The Steam Page

https://www.nexusmods.com/jurassicworldevolution
If you visit this site you will be greeted by many mods, for most of them you will need to have the base game and all DLC. Since the DLC adds a new research tree where most of the modded dinosaurs need to be unlocked by researching them! If you liked the original game, then you will love the modded version!

Rating

I rate Jurassic World Evolution with mods before playing with an 8.5.
I was more excited to play the game once again with mods. However, be careful with downloading mods from other sites than Nexus mods! If you are even more advanced in modding games, you can also try injecting files!

Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty much the same as in the original game, however some missions might be easier to complete if you use the mod expanded isles, which makes your islands bigger! Some dinosaurs like the dodo can give your island a huge boost in the beginning! Expanded isles can sometimes bug your island, to fix this you will need to switch around a bit until the glitch disappears, down below is a picture of the glitch!

After researching and digging up one of the new dinosaurs, you will also need to incubate them. Since these dinosaurs have altered stats and needs, you will need to look carefully on how to make them happy. There are also new hybrids for which you need to be farther in the game. Some mods can even upgrade the incubation success of your dinosaur or increase the genome slots available!

If you enjoy building scenery, there are also mods that add new scenery for you to build, as I was writing this review, I saw a mod which I would love! A way to speed up the game, this is what was initially was missing from the original game! It is not wrong to keep on checking from time to time, as new mods are still added regularly!

For some of the new dinosaurs you need the expanded islands to create sea dinosaurs, however you can also let them float on land, if you are wondering how a shark would float on land, check the image down below!

Rating

I rate the gameplay of Jurassic World Evolution with mods with a 10.
This deserves the same or maybe even a better rating than the original game, since a lot of new features can be added!

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

Added modded dinosaurs adds amazing graphics but since these are not native to the game, you can expect some issues like a dinosaur eating a guest with their butt. Or maybe a floating mossasaurus that sticks his head in the water. However, this is all very enjoyable, these are still graphical issues. Most of the mods are very professional, but there are also some weaker mods with bad models out there.

Sound

The soundtracks remain the same, as for the dinosaurs, most of the sound effects are the same since most of the new dinosaurs use an existing dinosaur as a base including the sounds. However, some mods have new sounds for the dinosaurs!

Rating

I rate the sound and graphics of Jurassic World evolution modded with an 8.5.
Why a higher rating? The modders did an amazing job with adding new graphics, also that dinosaur ate a guest with his butt.

What did I think after playing Jurassic World Modded?

Both my wife and I played this game with mods for quite some time. We still need to finish the main campaign for the second time and unlock more modded dinosaurs, but with over 150 dinosaurs, this takes awhile! We are having a great time though, and the mods add a whole new layer to the original game!

There have been many instances with mods that things went wrong, including adding some mods and getting the game to work properly with all the mods that we wanted active, however the mods have also made us laugh a lot. I can still feel the tears in my eyes from laughing so much!

Rating

I rate Jurassic World Modded with a 10 after playing.
There is a lot of fun to get out of the mods once installed properly! You can always add new things or dinosaurs, there are also still mods in the work with even more dinosaurs!

What are my personal thoughts about Jurassic World Modded?

Both my wife and I love dinosaurs, however in the original game some of the dinosaurs that we like the most were missing, for example the Therizinosaurus or the mossasaurus! Now we can finally incubate them in our park! Even the guests can magically breathe underwater!

Rating

My personal of Jurassic World Modded is a 10.
What can I say? I love dinosaurs!

I hope you do not mean this, people in real life are trying to genetically create a mammoth, before you know it they are making their own Jurassic Park!

The claws on that first dine look terrifying!
It´s all fun and games with mods until one breaks the game, possibly making you lose your progress, back up your saves frequently.

The time just flies while playing this one, and they say time flies when having fun. I can understand your rating of 10. XD

That a shark swimming on dry land? The mods look good fun, I guess you should create a new mod too, Jurassic World meets Sharknado…

To be honest zoo-type management games are my least favourite type of management games, but for dinosaurs I make an exception.
