Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign mode review

Introduction

Today we are going to delve into more zombie goodness! Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign mode. In this review, we are going to take a look at the campaign mode. How well can you survive when you are on a lost island, with no rescue in sight. Or maybe there is a rescue party? You take control of two main characters, Claire and Barry. They both have sidekicks that can be controlled by a second player.

What did I think before playing Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign mode?

All I had hoped, was that this game would be even better compared to the first game. It would be already much better if it had a dodge button. Once again, the stories take place in episodes. There are less main characters, but the story is more focused this time around. For more information, we looked at the Steam Page.

The Steam Page

One of the great things is on the page that it mentions the comeback of Barry in an all new survival horror experience! Another main character is Claire, there are a lot of new weapons to use. However, you will need to preserve your ammo once again. If you have somebody to play with, you can play the game in co-op! Both my wife and I were interested in what this game had to offer!

Rating

I rate Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign Mode with an 8.2 before playing.
I was very keen to see if this game had a proper way to dodge!

Story

The story takes place with a new organization celebrating, this off course does not go according to plan. They are attacked by guys in helicopters, the captive people are being taken to a remote island. It is your goal as Claire Redfield, to escape with your life, the problem? Zombies are everywhere!

Rating

I rate the story of Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign Mode with a 7.6
The story is fun, however the secret ending is hidden very well! I hope you do not mind invisible enemies that will one hit kill you!

Gameplay

The gameplay of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is the same for both the main characters. You try to survive the zombies on the island while trying to find what you are looking for. As this is a survival horror game, you can expect ammo to be scarce, this is where a second player comes in handy. The second player is basically immortal and can beat up any nasty zombie that comes close. A well-placed shot can stun the zombies, the second player takes it out!

The genesis scanner is no more in this game, it was quite a clunky machine and mechanic in a game. This time, you can use your eyes! Well, the player controlling the second character. You can either point a finger, or a flashlight on shiny things. This will make them solid, this can either be ammo, or maybe even a herb. We all know how overpowered herbs are in Resident Evil! They will literally save you from anything, well except for one hit attacks!

If you perform well in completing the episodes or even find some secrets. You will get skill points that you can spend at the end of the episode. These skills will be very useful to clear the game much faster! I would advise upgrading your dodging skill, as this game has a decent button for dodging! I wonder, how many times can you say Ouroboros before a new one spawns next to you!

Rating

I rate the gameplay of Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign Mode with an 8.2.
All I can hear Barry scream now is: Natalia open the sluice!

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

The graphics of this game are quite good, it is a game that came out in 2015. If it is your first time playing this game, you are going to get jump scared, more times than you would like. The puzzles in this game are tougher than you would expect, until you learn them inside out! I can still remember how the first Ouroboros scared us shitless as it ran after us in a dark forest that was poorly lighted.

Sound

The soundtracks in this game make the perfect atmosphere for a survival horror game. Sometimes the sound turns so silent, you can hear footsteps of the zombies before they come out to get you!

Rating

I rate the sound and graphics of Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign Mode with an 8.9.
If this game does something good, it invokes the paranoia inside of you that you could be watched at any time in your life.

What did I think after playing Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign Mode?

As a fan of quotes from famous people, this game hit the right spot for me. Franz Kafka is often names in this game as the bad guy in this game, bases her actions on what he had written. Maybe this will learn people to not take literature literal! It is, off course, no surprise that since we liked this game, we tried to get an S rank on many of the episodes! We are almost done, just a few more to go!

The co-op works pretty well in this game, in fact if you can work well together, you can seriously abuse it. All you need to do is upgrade the right skills, and your co-op partner becomes a real zombie smasher! As always, save your ammo for the final boss if possible! You are going to need a lot of bullets this time! There are two endings, can you find the secret ending!?

Rating

I rate Resident Evil Revelations 2 Campaign Mode with an 8.9 after playing.
If you are interested in getting S ranks in this game, it is going to take you a while!

Gasp, I saw a Glasp, oh wait never mind it is invisible.

Great story mode – less action, more survival than previous entries with stealth elements and limited suplies and ammo plus the raid mode is very addictive.
