Introduction
Today we are going to review a game that we have been building up with videos for a few weeks! Super Epic the Entertainment War. This is a Metroidvania game that is mostly hidden, we want to see if this game is worth the time to play or not! If you like Metroidvania games, this might be a game that you have missed and might want to give a whirl!
What did I think before playing Super Epic the Entertainment War?
I found this game by accident in a bundle a while ago. I like Metroidvania games a lot, finding abilities and then backtracking is always fun. It seemed that this game would have different areas to explore with, off course, different enemies. I also learned that there would be equipment. I did not know what else to expect, thus, I went to the Steam page.
The Steam Page
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1163560/SuperEpic_The_Entertainment_War/
The Steam page looks good, but it has barely any reviews at all. Most of the reviews that seem bad are because they cannot complete the game 100%, which was not very hard to do for me nor would it be for a casual gamer if you pay attention to what the game tells you. Another complaint was that the game was too much of a maze, which is describing almost any Metroidvania game. Since the Steam page has a lot of good information, for example, a fun mechanic would be able to make combos with different weapons.
Rating
I rate Super Epic the Entertainment War with a 7.7 before playing.
This seems like a hit or miss game, mixed reviews on Steam, despite looking good before playing. I was very interested in what this game would offer!
Story
The story of Super Epic takes place in the future, when an evil company called Regnantcorp has taken over the world. However, a few people want to fight back, a raccoon and a llama find their way into the office and fight their way to the boss. Can you stop them from mind controlling the people?
Rating
I rate the story of Super Epic the Entertainment War with a 6.7.
While the story is fun, it is not perfect.
Gameplay
The gameplay has you exploring most of the time for cameras, that is, if you want the secret ending. The cameras do not respawn, you should destroy them as soon as possible. Or maybe put a reminder on the map. As you explore areas, you will find enemies that need some whacking, you can combo enemies to destroy them quickly and fill up your rage meter.
The rage meter can grant you special abilities, however, you will need special gems to buy these abilities. To deal more damage, you will need to collect gold from the enemies that you have slain. Bigger combos mean more gold, if you have enough gold, you can upgrade weapons to deal even more damage.
When exploring the areas, you will find abilities to explore other areas even more. You will also find equipment that you can equip, these can grant you increased stamina regen, loads of defense, or you might even deal more damage! The hardest part of the game is finding all the cameras.

I rate the gameplay of Superepic the Entertainment War with a 7.4
This might be a hidden gem, and yes, you will be looking for items a lot, but this is a Metroidvania after all.
Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics of the game are quite good, with a lot of enemies to beat up. All the floors have different bosses and biomes. To explore each floor fully, you will need all the abilities that this game has to offer you.
Sound
I really enjoyed listening to the music of this game, the second floor had very playful music. The sound effects were very good.
Rating
I rate the sound and graphics of Super Epic the Entertainment War with a 7.9.
I enjoyed the sound a lot, the graphics are fun to look at.
What did I think after playing Super Epic the Entertainment War?
I had a lot of fun when playing this game, the game mechanics are fun except for the camera hunting, which took me the most time as you could see in the video in the super epic mop up! The bosses did not put up much of a fight, except for one boss. The final boss was a pushover!
It is also your goal to collect cell keys to free the prisoners, doing so will unlock the true ending. You might want to prepare before going to the final boss fight.
Rating
I rate Super Epic the Entertainment War with a 7.4 after playing.
It was amazing to find this hidden gem and make a full play through since that does not exist yet, only some half videos or boss fights!
What are my personal thoughts about Super Epic the Entertainment War?
I had a great time when playing this game, the story progress seemed quite fluid and there are a lot of fun Easter eggs. There are also mini-games that you need to complete on your phone.

My personal Rating of Super Epic the Entertainment War is an 8.1.
If you like Metroidvania games, this is indeed a hidden gem!
