Introduction
Today we are going to look at a Doom mod, it is called, my house. Luckily, my house is not filled with demons but this house, my house is filled with so many demons and stuff that I am glad that my house is not my house if you still are with me? Oh, never mind, we are just going to check at this Doom mod, should you play it? It depends, can you stomach jump scares? Because it makes me twitchy, just, don’t play this in the dark. I will not add a story for this game, due to, not wanting to spoil you.
What did I think before playing My House?
This mod has been requested by a few people, and it seemed like a fun Doom mod, what could possible go wrong? Nothing, of course, we will just kill some demons and have fun. This mod seemed to have its own page for information. I heard from some people that this mood is very fun and that I should try it. Thus, I decided to check out this mod. First, we will check out the information page.

Now this is where I made a huge mistake, I just scrolled over it and saw new enemies, explored a house. Like, okay it is just a Doom mod, I can stomach a lot. I do have a nasty habit that I like to know what I am playing. If I am going to play a horror game, I want to go into that horror game with full confidence, and my wife by side. I need to squeeze someone when I get jump scared.

A simple Doom mod, right?
Gameplay
The gameplay of My House is quite the same as Doom without mods. There is no extra blood like in Brutal Doom. You also cannot jump. However, you can use your crosshair to aim up and down. The rest is quite standard, you explore the area while collecting bullets, keep your health high and fight the demons.
While this might be a mod be only a single level, it is so much more complicated than that. As you explore the house, everything seems normal. There are some items that you can interact with. You will find a few secret hatchets, all the normal things you would expect from a Doom mod, including a lot of doors to open. These come with your regular demons, and there are items to pick up that make changes to the house.
However, the house also changes drastically, including adding new monsters to each room, or even a strange black and white house. However, there is a milkshake somewhere in the house that will open up the room behind a bookcase. It is found near the pool table, whatever you do, do not enter that room!

Sound and Graphics
Graphics
The graphics are perfect, especially if you want a big surprise. There are new monsters to face. A labyrinth to find your way through. You can interact with a lot of the environment. Many of these might change things in the labyrinth that is my house. Danger might be lurking around every turn!
Sound
The sound effects are great, but what caught my ears was the soundtrack. I mean, holy cannoli. Just, perfect.

I rate the sound and graphics of My House with a 10.
It, uh, yeah, uhm, good music, yay. Just, enjoy it, don’t enter the room behind the bookcase.
What did I think after playing My house?
I kind of abruptly stopped playing this mod, there was this moment where I was like, fuck no! Pardon my French but, man, can people please tell me what they request properly? If you want spoilers, and fun stuffs, just, look at the video below. Enjoy the screaming.
Did you enjoy the screaming? Don’t worry, it gets worse, but I am keeping my mouth shut. Just, go and shoot some demons, right? All you need to do is shoot demons, focus on that, shoot the demons. Especially the creepy ones, kill them, burn them, no burn might not be the right option.

For some reason, I don’t want a pool table, or a bookcase near a pool table. No reason at all.

- Team up with your favorite gun and try to make it to the end, if you can

This Mod did not turn out to be what I expected from it, would I recommend it? Yes, I will, go play it, and face your demons.

This is a really nice approach to a Doom mod … how much compexity on such a smal map … very unique!

I’d say the level design is too crowded and unnatural, it’s a constant bump against the walls and doors.
I guess you really like Doom at this point, but the review score is too much. 10/10 for the music…? :/
Well, I shot myself in the foot with that one, I admit, but I have given the Doom it is based on a 10 and the music and atmosphere is better in this one. So, like I said, whoopsie.

I enjoy the occasional doom-like shooter and this seems to be an interesting switch on things. But I gotta agree with Bacon that this seems like there is not much space left in these rooms to move around… I’d give it a chance though to test it out myself.
There is more room than you might think, but it is all part of the horror aspect, knowing you might get cornered by a demon.

Doom has a special place in my gaming experience. It’s the first PC game on which I have fond memories of playing with friends. Thank you for introducing this mod, which I didn’t know about and which is apparently worth a try!

Ah, this mod… A whole other game. The psychological horror mechanics (the maps changing, etc) are really well-made.
