Introduction

Today we are going to look at a mobile game that has you use dragons in combat. How does this game fair? Are the dragons happy? Do they have nice equipment? What are their capabilities? This and more we will find out in this review, but alas, there is no real story mode, but there are some disconnected adventure modes.

What did I think before playing Summon Dragons 2?

Once again, I was stumbling through the Google Play Store in the hopes of finding a fun game to play. Since I also enjoy playing games on the go to write reviews about. That is when this game got recommended to me with summon all dragons, you know the fake ads. I knew it was not real, but the gameplay intrigued me. Eager to find out more, I visited the Google Play Store.

The Google Play Store Page

There is no real page for more information, but there are fun pictures to tell us what the game is all about. Of course, we need to summon dragons, but there also seems to be a town that you need to build. You will have plenty of different modes to explore. All in all, it seemed like a fun game with no real story. After some research

Rating

I rated Summon Dragons 2 with a 7,9 before playing.
After some research, I found out that people mentioned a lot that this game is great for free to play.

Gameplay

Firstly, we are going to delve into the combat aspect. You have three different clans of dragons, all of them have different strengths and weaknesses. Then there are classes, for example, tanks or mages. You can take five dragons into battle. Thus, it is important to focus on five dragons. I would advise at least two tanks, one rogue, a hunter, and a mage. You can later mix and match when you have upgraded your town to let new dragons match the strength of your weakest from those five.

Now, you can’t just throw your dragons into a battle. They need gear. Once you get better gear, use set bonuses that will help your dragon. Also, each dragon has a skill tree that you can upgrade further as it evolves. To evolve your dragon, you will need lesser dragons, and dragons of the same kind. You can boost all damage by having baby dragons, but how do you summon real dragons?

The paid summon in this game sucks hard. You cannot get real dragons from that, you will need to play the game to get special summoning stones. Either for limited or advanced summons. If you are lucky, you will get a truly good dragon. With a lot of luck, you might get a healer which you want in your team! Use set effects to increase healing power.

There are many different modes and bosses to fight, but once your town is done building. There are no new unlocks, this means that the building section of the game gets stale vert quickly. You can upgrade your land by progressing in the story. There is a reason I eventually quit the game, as more and more events became more pay to win, which was not the case in the beginning.

Rating

I rated the gameplay of Summon Dragons 2 with a 7.0
While I really did like the gameplay, it started to become more pay to win over time. But countless things can be done if you are free to play.

Sound and Graphics

Graphics

I have to give the developers credit for making all these different dragons. Their designs are unique along with their names. There are many different game modes, which are all accompanied by unique graphical elements. For example, a boss in a cave that wrecks the floor and your dragons can fall down. Or an adventure mode with puzzles to solve.

Sound

While the graphics are amazing, the soundtracks were a bit monotone. As for the sound effects, it was mostly dragons beating the shit out of each other.

Rating

I rated the sound and graphics of Summon Dragons 2 with a 7.2
While the sound department drops the ball, the graphical department is amazing for a mobile phone.

What did I think after playing Summon Dragons 2?

I did like this game a lot, I spent over hundred hours reviewing this game. I collected a lot of good gear, made some amazing dragon teams, evolved my dragons to great heights and more. The reason I quit was because of the Valentine’s Event that required you to spend money to actually get something.

While I did dislike that events were pay to win, this game has a well-balanced PVP element. I managed to rank in the top fifty players regularly. Of course, the top three were whales who paid for VIP. But, you can slowly gather VIP for free, very slowly.

Rating

I rated Summon Dragons 2 with an 8.0 after playing.
While yes, the events became more pay to win, and I did pay five dollars for this game, which I don’t do often, but I felt like supporting the developers. For these five dollars, you got a week’s pass for hatching. Yes, if you pay, you get your money’s worth back. I hope the Valentine’s Event was a small dip, I am giving the developers the benefit of doubt. You should play this game, it is fun!

What are my personal thoughts about Summon Dragons 2?

There are many fun events and bosses to fight. Yes, there is a slight pay to win element, but compared to other games, it is almost non-existent. I hope the one event was just a fluke, sadly, I had to move on to other games for reviewing. Perhaps, I will come back one day and see what has become of this game and what new dragons have been added.

Rating

My personal Rating of Summon Dragons 2 is a 7.7
I did not play this game for over a hundred hours because it was boring.

It seems like a fun game, I love the dragons (they are my favorite mythical creatures), the battle animations and spells. I like that it’s afk friendly too.

My girlfriend used to collect tons of dragons in a similar game. Never understood the thrill about it. But I guess it is all about these winged creatures and not the gameplay.
